A life cut short

Taken far too soon

Pictures and memories remain

Reminding us daily of our loss

Hard to believe you're really gone

Trying to make sense of your death

Only to realize you were taken

Because they were missing an angel in Heaven.

A year has come and passed

Since we last saw your smile or heard your laugh.

Your time on earth is done

But you'll live on forever in our memories.

Your laughter echoes off our hearts

Making us smile

Cuz we know our Shirl Bird

Has finally gained her wings

And is smiling down on us everyday.
