The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has provided this report on the Aug. 20 Eighty Four Livestock Auction.

CATTLE 343 — (Supply included 203 head of feeders. Compared with last week's sale, breaker and boner cows were 1.-2. higher; lean cows were mostly 2. lower; bulls were steady)

Steers — Select 1-2, two 84. and 85.; standard 1-2, one, 66.

Holstein steers — Choice 2-3, two, 1440 and 1525 lbs., 73. and 75.

Heifers — Select 1-2, one, 77.50.

Cows — Breakers, 75-80 percent lean, 57.50-60.50, few to 66.; boners, 80-85 percent lean, 48.-56.; lean, 85-90 percent lean, 41.-46. Shells 40. and down. Longhorn cows — 31.-47.50.

Bulls — Yield grade 1, 1070-2135 lbs., 61.50-67.; yield grade 2, one, 1110 lbs., 59.

Feeder cattle — Steers — Medium 1, 285-430 lbs., 116.-127.50.; medium and large 2, 328-560 lbs., 87.50-116.; 865-995 lbs., 81.-88.; medium and large 3, 380-507 lbs., 42.50-49.; 525-616 lbs., 46.-79.; few, 881 lbs., 62.50. Farm calves — No. 1, Holstein bulls, 85-115 lbs., 100.-115., few to 120.; No. 2, 80-120 lbs., 75.-95., few to 100. No. 1, Holstein heifers, 100-110 lbs., 575.-750.; No. 2, 70-100 lbs., 250.-525. Beef cross bulls and heifers — 85-125 lbs., 100.-140.
