Sliders exploit early lead in 8-4 victory
ROCKFORD, Ill. — Slippery Rock scored four runs in the first and second innings and made it stand, rolling to an 8-4 victory over the Rockford RiverHawks Thursday.
The game kicked off a three-game series.
Rockford, which outhit Slippery Rock 9-8, tallied two runs in the seventh and ninth innings, but it wasn't enough.
Slippery Rock (16-49) will return to action for a 7:05 p.m. game Friday.
