Group wants help giving out funding

BUTLER TWP — A brainstorming session for a grant organization will be held July 11 at Butler County Community College and the public is invited to help with ideas.

The Community Connections Grant Project will select regional community initiatives to distribute $1 million throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Funding, administered by The Sprout Fund, will be delivered to organizations in Allegheny,Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Butler, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland counties. The deadline to apply is Sept. 14. Recipients will be announced in October and November.

Information on applying will be available from 10 a.m. to noon at the session in Founders Hall on the college's main campus.
