Mortimer

Katherine Irene Mortimer, 74, of Frostproof, Fla., formerly of West Sunbury, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday at her daughter's home in West Sunbury following an extended illness.

Born Dec. 4, 1932, in Clarion County, she was the daughter of David M. and Gertrude Gabler Girts.

She was homemaker and a long-time member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall.

She enjoyed helping people learn about God.

Surviving are her five daughters, Mrs. Andy (Patty) Claypoole of Brandon, Fla., Karen Mortimer of West Sunbury, Mrs. Kevin (Sharon) Isovitsch of West Sunbury, Mrs. Kevin (Margie) Koegler of Butler and Mrs. James (Johannah) Norton of Petrolia; three sons, John Mortimer Jr. of Frostproof, Fla., David Mortimer of Bailey, N.C., and Scott Mortimer of Emlenton; a sister, Mrs. Roy (Dot) Tanner of Michigan; a brother, David Girts of North East, Pa.; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Mortimer Sr., who died May 8, 2004.

<B>Mortimer — </B>There will be no visitation. A memorial service for Katherine Irene Mortimer, who died Monday, May 28, 2007, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall on Unionville Road in Butler with Elder William Schmidt officiating.
