Frank A. Gianneschi Sr., 86, of Freeport Road died Thursday at the home of his son in South Plainfield, N.J.

Born in Butler, March 9, 1921, he was the son of Pete and Elvera Marchetti Gianneschi.

He was a retired auto body repairman and with his brother, John, operated the body shop at Butler County Ford for 35 years.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, the Senior Citizen Golf League and the Senior Citizen Bowling League.

He is survived by his wife, Jean M. Stark Gianneschi; two sons, Frank A. Gianneschi Jr., of South Plainfield and Dennis P. Gianneschi, of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother John Gianneschi of Butler; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Gianneschi Sr., who died Thursday, May 24, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Center Avenue, with the Rev. James Dolan officiating. Burial will be at the St. Michael Cemetery.Members of the Bereavement Group of St. Michael Parish will hold a scriptural wake service at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
