Yough

Francis Eugene Yough, 92, of the Kaylor Petrolia Road, Karns City, died Saturday at his home of natural causes.

Born in Petrolia, Nov. 4, 1914, he was a son of Thomas Francis Yough, who died in 1967, and Mayme Rachel McCracken Yough, who died in 1966.

He served with Army in Co. D, 28th Infantry Division, Macon, Ga.

Mr. Yough was a member of the of Bruin High School graduating Class of 1933 and the Karns City High School Class of 1934.

He was employed for 49 years at the Witco Corp. in Petrolia, where he worked in sulfonate purification and alcohol recovery and retired in November 1984.

His wife, the former Alberta "Boots" Mortimer, whom he married Oct. 10, 1934, in Chicora, died Dec. 22, 2003.

Surviving are three sons, Eugene W. Yough and wife, Harriet, of Chicora, Dennis J. Yough of Snow Hill, Chicora, and Gary D. Yough of Karns City; four daughters, Donna L. Edwards of Mesa, Ariz., Darla K. Fennell of Chicora, Beverly A. King and her husband, Charles, of Chicora, and Rita S. Cumberland of Petrolia; and a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Sipes of Natrona Heights. Also surviving are eight grandsons, 12 granddaughters, 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Yough in 1938; a son, Robert Lynn Yough in 1945; a grandson, Rodney Ralph Yough on Feb. 10, 1981; and two brothers, Marlin R. Yough in 1961 and Robert E. Yough in 1922.
