Marisa Glew and Ryan Prokay both finished second in their respective divisions at the 2007 Westfield Junior PGA Championship, held Wednesday at Fox Run Golf Course in Beaver Falls.

Glew, a Mars High graduate, shot a two-round total of 2- over-par 146 to finish runner-up in the girls 16-18 division.

Prokay, of Grove City, was second in the boys 14-15 division after shooting a 149.

Other area golfers who placed included Seven Fields' Connor McCaffrey, who shot a 154 and tied for fourth in the boys 14-15 division, and Butler's Mark DeCola, who placed fifth in the boys 13-and-under division after managing a 51 on nine holes.

Kevin Day of Zelienople tied for second place and Michael Jones of Cranberry Township tied for seventh at the West Penn Amateur Qualifier at Connoquenessing Country Club Wednesday.There were 10 qualifiers and four alternates at the event.Day carded a 2-over 73, three strokes behind winner Andrew Rickard of New Castle, while Jones had a 75.

Butler residents Sharon Goncz and Susan Colton tied for ninth place with a score of 85 at the fourth West Penn Women's Amateur Tournament Wednesday at Hannastown Golf Club.In the net results, Goncz placed seventh (75) and Colton tied for ninth (78).

At the latest Northeast Junior Golf Tour event, Jenna Rinker, 15, of Slippery Rock recorded a 79 to capture first place in the girls 12-15 division at Glengarry Golf Club in Latrobe.Her brother, Brett, fired an 80 to win the boys 12-13 division.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Jeff Gordon won't have to miss a race for the birth of his daughter.NASCAR's four-time champion became a father Wednesday when his wife, model Ingrid Vandebosch, gave birth to a girl. Gordon announced on his Web site that Ella Sofia Gordon was born Wednesday morning."It's been an absolutely incredible experience," Gordon said. "Ingrid came through amazingly and we're both really happy and overjoyed. We can't wait to get home and start our lives together as a family."Gordon asked Mark Martin to be on standby this weekend in case he had to leave the race in Sonoma, Calif., to return for the birth. He said he'll travel to California later this week and participate in all on-track activities at Infineon Raceway.Gordon's baby was born two days after Tiger Woods' daughter.

LAS VEGAS — Suspended NFL player Adam "Pacman" Jones must surrender to authorities here to face two felony charges in a strip club melee that preceded a triple shooting in February.Two other people police identified as part of the troubled Tennessee Titans cornerback's entourage also will face felony charges in the fracas inside the Minxx club, Las Vegas police said Wednesday.Clark County District Attorney David Roger said arrest warrants were being sought for Jones, Robert "Big Rob" Reid of Carson, Calif., and Sadia Morrison of New York.
