The offensive woes continue for the SlipperyRock Sliders.

The Frontier League team collected eight hits, but scored only one run in 2-1 road loss to Evansville Friday night.

Former Slippery Rock University standout Phil Butch had two hits to raise his average to .229 and leadoff hitter Casey Bowling also had two hits.

Bowling is leading the team with a .357 average.

But the Sliders (8-14) continue to struggle to plate runners. The team is batting just .217 this season.

The poor run support torpedoed another solid pitching performance by Slippery Rock.
