The Slippery Rock Sliders snapped a three-game losing streak Monday, outlasting the Chillicothe (Ohio) Paints 4-3 Monday at Jack Critchfield Park.

Derek Griffith improved to 2-1 on the year while Greg Lasinski picked up his fifth save.

Slippery Rock (7-10) moved one-half game ahead of the Paints (7-11) for third place in the division with the win.

The Sliders took a 1-0 lead after two innings before the Paints countered with the tying run in the top half of the third inning.

Two more runs in the fourth inning and another in the fifth increased Slippery Rock's advantage to 4-1 before the Paints, who outhit the Sliders 10-8, posted two runs in the sixth.

The Sliders will host Chillicothe for the second of a two-game series at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday.
