Knoch senior Lizz King will continue her academic and basketball careers at Chatham University, a Division III school in Pittsburgh.

King averaged 10.6 points per game last season and set school records by sinking 39 3-pointers and 84 percent of her free throws. She will major in exercise science.

Nine members of the Slippery Rock University baseball team were named All-PSAC West.Freshman catcher Matt Adams is the PSAC West Rookie of the Year and is joined by five Rock teammates — pitcher Derek Blyzwick, shortstop Phil Butch, first baseman Dan Hudeck, pitcher Craig Misiewicz and outfielder M.J. Parsons — on the first team.Outfielder Scott Bender, third baseman Billy Herman and pitcher Rich Hocanson gained second-team honors.

Nashville Sounds pitcher Zach Jackson, a graduate of Seneca Valley, recorded a one-hitter in a 7-1 victory over Round Rock Express Monday.Jackson threw 89 pitches and faced one batter over the minimum to lead the Sounds, the Class AAA affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.With his second consecutive win, Jackson improved to 5-2 with a 3.61 ERA. He has 27 strikeouts and 11 walks in 41 1/3 innings.
