Reading help under way

This is in response to Robert E. Freemon' letter of April 20, "Help for 'slow' readers."

Penn Christian Academy is using volunteers to help students with dyslexia learn to read. The administrator, Cindy Dodds, identifies these students as early as kindergarten. Volunteers are taught how to use the Barton System, and these volunteers go to the school to tutor students.

I am one of the volunteers.

We fully agree that it is crucial that every child learn to read.

Anyone interested in this program is invited to get in touch with the school for more information.
