The Advanced Approach Spaasm 18-year-old volleyball team recently took second place at a tournament in Windham, Ohio. The squad included Butler's Becky Smith and Samantha Harris.The cub's 16-year-old team placed third out of 32 teams at a tournament in Columbus, Ohio. That team includes Butler's Stephanie Mock and Becky Smith and Seneca Valley's Paige Banyas, Sarah Beals, Anna Homisky, Kellie Karasack and Cassie Kulp.
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Pirates reliever Matt Capps was suspended for four games and fined for hitting the Brewers' Prince Fielder with a pitch during a 6-3 loss Saturday in Milwaukee.The penalty was announced Monday by Bob Watson, Major League Baseball's vice president for on-field operations. Unless Capps appeals, it will begin today, when the Pirates begin a three-game series against the Cubs in Chicago.
