VT Students

peter.cyprian@us.army.mil

There has been a lot of opinions tossed around about guns and gun control since the VT incident; let me be clear on this point: It would have only taken ONE legally register conceal carry permit holder to put a stop to that nutcase. ONE. Gun control only controls LAW ABIDING citizens- all others are CRIMINALS (ie- they don't care what the law says, that's why we label them as criminals). VT took away the rights of those students and made a choice for them- VT decided that they were to be VICTIMS. VA state law allows concealed carry, VT does not. The state failed by not enforcing the part of the law that was already on the books- a [documented] menatlly ill person was able to aquire a weapon. I just want everyone to be clear on this point- VT and the state failed those students. No matter how you spin it, the policy of VT to not allow guns on the campus (in the hands of trained, legal, and registered owners) lead to the only outcome possible in this situation. I hope the rest of the country gets smart like Utah- let the students LEGALLY carry!
