The Tornado Volleyball Club 15-and-under squad won the Keystone Region Volleyball Association regional championship recently in York.

Butler defeated Pittsburgh Elite 2-0, Northampton 2-0 and Mizuno Yorktowne 2-1 to win the event. The team has captured three first-places and one second-place in its four tournaments thus far.

Coaches are Meghan Lucas and Kelly Erdos. Team members include Brynn Maxwell, Abbie Druschel, Amanda Huey, Jesse Coyle, Lindsy Wittebort, Erica Kutsch, Cortney Hazlett, Jocelyn Bachman, Fallon Bachman, Chelsea Pallone and Danielle Lloyd.

Robert Morris University junior goaltender Jonathan Hoffman, a Seneca Valley graduate, was named an American Collegiate Hockey Association All-American.Hoffman's record in net this season was 18-5-3 and he managed a 2.34 goals-against average and a save percentage of .930.

Slippery Rock University freshman catcher Matt Adams earned PSAC West Baseball Player of the Week honors after hitting .619 last week, including seven doubles, a home run and six RBI in 21 at-bats.
