The FCA Gems Diamonds squad placed ninth at the 2007 Cheerleading Worlds in Orlando, Fla. The event hosted 155 teams representing 23 countries.
The Diamonds competed in the Large All-Girl Level 5 division. The Diamonds also will be featured as the American Cheerleader Magazine Squad of the Month for the upcoming May-June issue.

Archers from the Shooter's Showcase Archery Club won several awards at the recent State Target Archery Championship in Harrisburg.David McMillin shot a perfect 600 to tie the state record in the Men's Unlimited AA class and win the tournament. Morgan Koprivnak placed third in the Women's Unlimited AAclass.Nick Snyder placed third in the Cadet Bowhunter Unlimited AAclass while George Snyder and Lisa Hohn won the Men's Unlimited A class and Women's Bowhunter B class, respectively.Dave and Jennifer McMillin won the Husband and Wife Unlimited championship. The Women's Unlimited team won its sixth consecutive title. Team members are Morgan Koprivnak, Debbie McDermott, Jennifer McMillin, Shanna Gay, Erin Kregar, Charlene White and Lisa Hohn.
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ryan Whitney had left wrist surgery Thursday to repair an unidentified problem that caused recurring pain during the season.The 24-year-old Whitney needs six to eight weeks of rehabilitation, but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in September.Whitney tied for sixth in scoring among NHL defensemen with 59 points. He had 14 goals and 45 assists in 81 games.
