KITTANNING — Three Butler Cubs boxers will be part of an amateur fight card Saturday night at Kittanning High School.

Justin Emrick will face Marvel Ross of Cleveland, Jimmy Emrick faces Scott Oschinski of Imperial and Ryan Covert takes on Anthony Tettis of Ridgway Boxing.

Covert's bout is a final in the UUSA-AMATournament, 201-pound class. The fight card begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.

CALIFORNIA, Pa. — Butler High graduate Kim Nowakowski recorded 23 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots to help the California (Pa.) University women's basketball team to a 62-58 overtime win against Shippensburg on Wednesday.The win improves Cal's record to 12-5 overall and 2-1 in PSAC-West play.

PITTSBURGH — Bruce Arians, former offensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns, has been promoted to the same job by new Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin.Tomlin, introduced as the Steelers' coach on Monday, already has both coordinators in place with Dick LeBeau remaining as defensive coordinator.The Steelers have not announced Arians' promotion, but Arians told reporters at the Senior Bowl he has accepted the position. Arians, the former coach at Temple, was the Steelers' receivers coach for three seasons.
