Jamie Donaldson Rutkoski of Littleton, Colo., a Freeport graduate, was named to the elite 2007 Montrail National Ultrarunning Team.
Donaldson, who finished second overall in the grueling four-mile Montrail Ultra Cup this year, is one of only 11 women in the country to be chosen for the Montrail Team.
Ultramarathons, or ultrarunning, is loosely defined as running beyond 26.2 miles and often is contested on mountainous terrain of distances ranging from 50 kilometers to 100 miles.
Montrail, at the leading edge of trail running shoe development since 1988, has sponsored the nation's top endurance runners since 1996.
In 2007, Donaldson will be competing in the Texas Bandera 100K, the Umstead 100-mile in North Carolina, the American River 50-mile in California, the Leadville Trail 100 in Colorado, and the Badwater 135-mile in California.
A former WPIAL champion who ran track and cross country for both Freeport and Penn State, Donaldson teaches math at a Denver-area middle school, where she is also a cross country coach.

CHICAGO — Former NBA star Michael Jordan and his wife, Juanita, have divorced after 17 years of marriage.In court documents filed with the Lake County Circuit Court Friday, the couple said "irreconcilable differences have caused an irretrievable breakdown of the marriage." The couple said attempts to reconcile their marriage had failed and future ones "would be impractical and not in the best interests of the family."
