NEW WILMINGTON —Mallory Bugel, a Mars graduate and a Westminster College women's soccer player, was named second team All-Great Lakes Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

The junior forward recorded 11 goals and 15 assists, ranking fifth in the nation in assists per game.

GREENSBURG — Butler freshman Matt Slamecka finished second in the under-18 division of the USTAGreensburg Junior Thanksgiving Classic tennis tournament at the Greensburg Racquet Club.Playing up from his under-16 age division, Slamecka defeated Cameron Dolansky 6-0, 6-0, Matthew Hoch 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 and Jeff Nuhfer 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 before bowing to top-seeded Vignesh Iyer 6-2, 6-3 in the finals.

GREENSBURG — Butler County products Julie Ehrman from Butler and Nicole Reiser from Knoch played key roles in Pitt-Greensburg's recent 75-65women's basketball victory over Frostburg (Md.) State.Ehrman had 20 points, including five 3-pointers, six assists and three steals while Reiser had 15 points, including two 3-pointers, and 11 assists.
