COLLEGE NOTES

STEVE MINTON (Seneca Valley) rushed for 94 yards on 21 carries and scored his 32nd career rushing touchdown, moving him into first place on Thiel College's all-time list, in a 44-27 victory over Westminster Saturday. The junior needs only 66 yards rushing to become the school's all-time leader.•

BRENDA MAXWELL (Seneca Valley), a sophomore on the Bethany College women's swim team, captured the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 12 minutes 2.30 seconds, anchored the winning 200 free relay (1:53.13) and was second in the 500 free (5:49.10).•

JEFF WAGNER(Karns City) had three solo tackles and recovered a fumble in Thiel's win over Westminster.•

ANDREW DiDONATO (Grove City College) was named Presidents' Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for completing 20 of 35 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns, adding a rushing touchdown and a 10-yard TDreception in the Wolverines' 40-33 football victory over Case Western Reserve.•

HENRY JOHNSTON(Grove City College) was named PACSpecial Teams Player of the Week for averaging 44 yards on four punts in his team's football win over Case Western Reserve.•

ANDREW GILBERT(Grove City College) was named PACMen's Swimmer/Diver of the Week. He swept the 100-meter and 200-meter breaststroke in a win over Division I school Butler.•

ELAINE VOLTZ(Knoch), a senior middle hitter for the Penn State-Behrend College women's volleyball team, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the year in addition to the All-AMCC first team. Voltz has 385 kills and 112 total blocks.•

SHEILA ODGEN (Grove City High), was named to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference women's volleyball honorable mention team. The freshman middle hitter has 224 kills, 61 total blocks and a team-leading .347 attack percentage.
