MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez isn't taking credit for giving any rousing halftime talks to motivate his team after recent first-half struggles.

No. 4 West Virginia's last two games have been close at halftime before the Mountaineers outscored Mississippi State and Syracuse by a combined 52-10 in the second half to win going away.

"I'd like to tell you it was this Knute Rockne 'rah rah' speech but it really wasn't," Rodriguez said. "The key is to make a few corrections and a little adjustment."

West Virginia (6-0, 1-0 Big East) plays at Connecticut (3-3, 0-1) on Friday night.
