Bethany breaks out vs. GCC

A streak of 20 consecutive points between the second and third quarters proved to be the difference in Bethany (W.Va.) College's 34-28 football victory over Grove City College Saturday.

Two Brent Owens touchdown passes to Matt Cruse gave Bethany (3-2, 1-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference) a 20-14 halftime lead, then Owens added a 1-yard scoring run early in the third to open a 26-14 advantage.

Grove City freshman quarterback Andrew DiDonato completed 15 of 25 passes for 109 yards and one touchdown, that going to Ian Tobin to cap a 21-play, 86 yard drive that closed out the scoring with 37 seconds remaining.

Grove City (1-4, 1-3), who had defeated Bethany the previous nine meetings, will host Thiel for the annual Homecoming game on Saturday.
