The second annual Leading the Links Golf Open, held recently at Butler Country Club, raised $18,049 to benefit the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund.

There were 55 golfers in the event, organized by St. Barnabas Charities. The team from Associated Ceramics, Ray Lassinger, Dave Todd, Tom Williams and Eric Lenyk, won with a 283.

Other prizes went to Lassinger with low individual score of 69, Don Fusilli for longest putt, Rich Ruggio for straightest drive, Dave Parker for longest drive, David Iwinski for closest to the pin on No. 4 and Augusta Kairys for closest to the pin on No. 15.

Seneca Valley girls basketball standoutAmanda Johnson will continue her academic and playing careers at Division I St. Bonaventure University.Johnson, a 6-foot-1 senior, averaged 5.4 points per game, but she was a rebounding and defensive force for the Raiders.
