Slippery Rock University's Jeff Weiss and Holly Whoolery placed second in their respective cross country races Friday, but Clarion University prevailed 21-34 in the men's race and 27-28 in the women's race.

Weiss' time of 27 minutes, 34 seconds was 30 seconds behind Clarion's Chris Clark. Whoolery's time of 19:29 was three seconds behind Erin Richard. Jen Harpp of Slippery Rock was third overall in the women's race with a time of 19:47.
