Shelly Regner scored two goals and added an assist as the Slippery Rock University women's soccer team opened the season with a 3-0 home victory over Kutztown on Thursday.

Meghan McGrath added the other goal while freshman goalie Lauren McManus recorded the shutout after having to make just two saves.

Iain Langstone and Colin Wilcox both notched a goal to help The Rock down visiting Kutztown, 2-0.Mars High School graduate Steve Perri assisted Wilcox's goal in the second half.Brandon McQuillen made three saves in net for the shutout.
