Marian Jean Dietrich, 78, of Old Plank Road died at 8:45 a.m. Friday at her home.

Born Dec. 24, 1927, in Butler County, she was the daughter of Ralph Jennings Emery and Eleanor Patterson Emery.

She was a homemaker and a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Dietrich is survived by a son, Donald Robert Dietrich of Butler; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Ellen Ann) Kaltenbach of Renfrew and Mrs. Danny (Linda Jean) Thompson of Butler; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Shuber, Elizabeth Emery and Betty Stahlman, all of Butler; a brother, Thomas Emery of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Andrew Dietrich, who died June 29, 1996, and a brother.
