NEW WILMINGTON — Slippery Rock High School graduate Abby Basta and Moniteau graduate Amber Dillaman are continuing their academic and track and field careers at Westminster College.

Basta was a two-time state qualifier in the 100-meter hurdles and will major in English. She finished eighth in the state meet in the 100 hurdles as a junior.

Dillaman competes in the javelin, high jump, long jump and triple jump and placed sixth in the javelin at the District 9 meet. She will major in mathematics and education.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Seneca Valley graduate Shawn Cully is a senior 149-pound wrestler for Brown University. The Bears were recently honored by the National Wrestling Coaches Association for compiling the highest team grade point average in the nation.Brown's team GPAis 3.3515, edging second-place Duke's 3.3427.

BOLIVAR, Pa. — Jenna Rinker of Slippery Rock carded an 82 to take first place in the girls division in a Northeast Junior Golf Tour event at Champion Lakes Golf Club Thursday.Her brother, Brett, shot an 85 to take first-place honors in his division.
