Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Zach Jackson allowed three runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings and received a no-decision in an 8-5 win over the Chicago Cubs Tuesday.

Jackson, a graduate of Seneca Valley, struck out three batters and walked one. He had a 3-0 lead before allowing two runs in the fifth inning on a two-run home run by Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano and was charged with another run in the sixth inning.

Cameron Peterson of Grove City shot a 3-under-par 69 in the first round of the Hudson Junior Golf Invitational to claim first-place honors as the final two rounds of the event were rained out.Peterson's name joins current PGAgolfers Phil Mickelson and John Daly on the coveted trophy.Peterson topped the field of 81 golfers representing four countries and 21 states by one stroke. His victory came on the heels of his win at the PGAJunior Series event in Durham, N.C., the week before.

POTOMAC, Md. — In a sloppy finish to a sweet victory, Ben Curtis made two harmless bogeys for a 1-under 70 to complete a five-shot victory in the rain-delayed Booz Allen Classic.It was the first Tuesday finish on the PGA Tour in 26 years.

BOSTON — Mike Sullivan was fired after two seasons as coach of the Boston Bruins. No replacement was announced.The Bruins finished last in the Northeast Division last season. In 2003-04, Sullivan's first season, they lost in the first round of the playoffs.
