Jackson, a Seneca Valley graduate, had allowed two runs, but struck out four and walked one.
Jaconson, a left-hander, threw 78 pitches in three innings, giving up two earned runs on eight hits. He struck out four and walked just one batter.
In 17 innings this season, Jackson has fanned 14 batters and walked just two.
Jackson also had his first major league hit, a single in the third inning, and scored his first major league run when Corey Koskie homered later in the inning.
BROOKLYN, Mich.— Kasey Kahne won from the pole again, helped this time by a timely caution flag and a downpour that ended Sunday's NASCAR Nextel Cup race 71 laps early.Kahne, earning a series-best fourth victory of the season and his third from the top qualifying spot, fell behind on lap 47 of the 3M Performance 400 when he had to make a green-flag stop after debris accumulated on the grill, overheating the motor.That knocked the 26-year-old youngster back to 38th in the 43-car field, a lap behind the leaders. But a caution for light rain just seven laps later allowed Kahne to regain the lead lap and he quickly drove back into contention.After the green flag waved on lap 116, Kahne, who had taken four fresh tires, quickly chased down rookie Reed Sorenson.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes was charged with domestic violence early Monday, police said.Holmes was arrested at an apartment just after midnight and taken to Franklin County Jail, Sgt. Loucious Hollis said. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.Hollis confirmed the domestic violence charge against Holmes, but declined to say who made the complaint or provide details of the allegation.
