Copp

NEW WILMINGTON — Seneca Valley High School volleyball standout Elizabeth Copp will continue her academic and volleyball careers at Westminster College.

Copp was an outside hitter and left back for the 2004 WPIALchampionship team at Seneca Valley. She served as team captain her senior year.

The daughter of Richard and Brenda Copp of Cranberry Township, Copp graduated from high school with high honors. She will major in biology at Westminster.

Westminster's women's volleyball team posted a 19-16 record last season in coach Tammy Swearingen's 13th year. The Titans have put together 16 winning seasons in the past 19 years.

SLIPPERY ROCK — SlipperyRock University women's swimmer Jen Zuzack was named as a first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic all-American in the at-large competition sponsored by the College Sports Information Directors of America.Zuzack recorded the fourth-highest vote total in this year's competition.Zuzack, a physical therapy major atSRU, had a 4.0 grade point average throughout her undergraduate career. She also earned a 4.0 in her first year of study in the school of physical therapy.

DURHAM, N.C.—Cameron Peterson of Grove City fired a final-round 72 to capture the 16-to-18 boys division at the 2006 Callaway Golf PGAJunior Series Tournament Thursday at Duke University.Peterson made a birdie on his final hole to edge David Wien of Orange Village, Ohio, by one stroke. Peterson also earned an invitation to play in The Westfield Junior PGA Championship as well as the Callaway Golf Junior World Championships.
