ROARINGSPRINGS — Brett Rinker, 11, of Slippery Rock recently won the first tournament of the 2006 North East Junior Golf Tour series.

Rinker carded an 80 at the Iron Masters Country Club in Roaring Springs.

BUTLERTWP— St. Barnabas Charities netted $102,366, the highest total in the event's 19-year history, at its annual golf tournament Monday at Butler Country Club.Proceeds benefit the patients at St. Barnabas Nursing Home, Valencia Woods at St. Barnabas and The Arbors at St. Barnabas. The Free Care Fund provided more than $6.29 million to patients who could not otherwise afford their care.The golf event drew nearly 50 foursomes.
