Residents who are looking for more outdoor activities can contact the following groups for information.

Butler Outdoor Club — A group dedicated to promoting a variety of outdoor activities for all ages and abilities. Activities are open to the community. More information about the club, including its upcoming events, can be found at www.butleroutdoorclub.com.•

Moraine Sailing Club — The club, based at Watt's Bay Marina at Moraine State Park, promotes sailing in the community and is for the sailing enthusiast. The club has between 100 and 120 members. Boat ownership is not required. New members will be instructed by experienced sailors over several weeks and may rent the club's boats after passing a safety test.The club offers learn-to-sail and learn-to-cruise seminars during the winter season. A Kids Sailing Camp is held in August for children ages 7 and up. The club also sponsors a Venture group for teens. North Country Trail Association — A national nonprofit community organization dedicated to the development and maintenance of the North Country Scenic Trail, which at completion would stretch for 4,600 miles. Information about local chapters is available at www.northcountrytrail.org.•

Rock Climbing/Rappelling — Rock climbing and rappelling instructors Dale and Pat Vilsack of Mount Lebanon have climbed in several different states and each has at least 25 years experience. They worked with the former American Youth Hostel and volunteer with the outdoors group Venture Outdoors, based in Pittsburgh. Moraine Preservation Fund — A nonprofit, volunteer organization that supports Moraine State Park. The group operates the guided tour boat, Nautical Nature, and has been involved in a number of wildlife conservation projects. For more information, visit www.morainepreservationfund.com.

Rachel Carson Trails Conservancy — A nonprofit volunteer organization, started in 1992 as the Harmony Trails Council, it is dedicated to the development and promotion of trails in Western Pennsylvania. More information is available at www.rachelcarsontrails.org.•

Explorer's Club of Pittsburgh — An organization offering the opportunity to participate in a variety of outdoor adventures. More information is available at www.pittecp.org•
