Small space garden tips aid beginners
"Small Space Gardening" is a self-explanatory title, but it's not an all-inclusive one. Melinda Myers' new book is indeed a guide to gardening when you don't have much land, but it's also a concise primer on garden design and garden maintenance in general.
Myers is a horticulture instructor, certified arborist, gardening writer and host of a public-television show, "Great Lakes Gardener."
She has the easy-to-understand style and can-do attitude of a teacher, which makes her book particularly useful for beginning to intermediate gardeners. It's packed with ideas, timesavers and instructional tidbits, along with photographs and descriptions of favorite plants.
The book is part of Cool Springs Press' Can't Miss series. It's priced at $18.99 in softcover.
