FRANKLIN TWP — Cara Stephenson, 17, daughter of Chuck and Sandy Stephenson of Chicora, was crowned the 2006-07 Butler County Dairy Princess during a recent pageant at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church.

Ajunior at Butler High School, she is the president of the Butler County 4-H Dairy Club and secretary of the B&B Judging Club. She is active at her church, participating in the Christian Education Committee and teaching Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

Alternate dairy princesses were Janelle Hartzell, 18, of Slippery Rock; Kate Booher, 16, of New Castle; and Abby Flick, 17, of Fenelton.

Also participating in the pageant were Melissa DeHart of Evans City, Anna Flick of Fenelton, Trisha Covert of Chicora, Michelle Hartzell of Slippery Rock, Sara Lang of Harrisville and Larissa Lesney of Butler.

Title winners will promote the dairy industry at area events throughout the year.
