BUTLER TWP — The Pennsylvania State Police will conduct two child safety seat checkpoints next week as part of the Click It or Ticket campaign.
The checkpoints will be from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Baglier Buick-GMC-Mazda car dealership at 248 Route 8 in Butler Township and 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the state police barracks, 200 Barracks Road, Butler Township.
All parents, grandparents or guardians of children younger than 8 are encouraged to participate.
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock Heritage Festival is seeking flea market vendors and crafters to participate in the 21st annual VillageFest.The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 17.Activities will include a car show and cruise, big truck show, pet parade, stage performers, horse shoe competition and more.Pre-registration is required.For information, call 724-738-2869.
The YWCA of Butler, 120 Cunningham St., will hold a Granny's Attic rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 2.Clothing, furniture, dishes, toys and miscellaneous items will be sold.Donations can left in the YWCA lobby.Dog walk to benefit humane societyThe Butler County Humane Society will host a Woof and Whisker Dog Walk from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 10 at Butler Memorial Park.The fundraising event will include a 2-mile walk as well as games and activities for pets and humans.Proceeds will benefit the local no-kill shelter. FRANKLIN TWP — The North Country Bluegrass Jam will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at the amphitheater at Moraine State Park, North Shore Drive.The concert will feature area bluegrass bands. Proceeds from the event will benefit the North Country Music Association, Moraine/McConnell's Mill/Jennings Conservancy and the Hosanna House of Pittsburgh.A$10 donation is requested for admission.
