CENTERTWP— A Center Township Elementary teacher was honored with a teacher of the year award.

Steve Arn wins a $1,000 grant for the school and a $100 gift card for supplies.

The Sam's Club in Butler Township gave the award Tuesday on National Teacher's Day as part of Wal-Mart's Teacher of the Year Program.

Nationwide more than 4,000 teachers are honored in the program. Teachers were nominated by community members in February and chosen by a committee of store employees.

Arn also wins a Teacher of the Year polo shirt and a certificate.
