WEST CHESTER, Pa. — Butler graduate Sarah Thiebaud, a freshman at West Chester University, recently placed fifth in the high jump at the PSACTrack And Field Championships.

Thiebaud leaped five feet, three inches. She qualified in the triple jump and placed 10th. She did not run the 4x100 meter relay because of an ankle injury.

Ori Rinaman, 9, of Mars won the local Pepsi Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run contest held April 30.Rinaman, who was the hitting, running and all-around champion, advances to the sectional, which will be held in Rochester, Pa., May 21.

DALLAS — Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been fined $200,000 for his two recent episodes of referee-bashing.Half of the punishment was for going on the court Sunday to complain during the Mavericks' 87-85 loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of their second-round series. The rest was for some critical comments made in a blog entry he posted Sunday under the title, "How to improve NBA Playoff Officiating."Cuban was punished eight times for more than $1 million and suspended from three games in his first two years after buying the Mavericks in 2000.
