The Slippery Rock University baseball team saw its chances for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title disappear with a 5-4 loss to Kutztown in the conference tournament, Friday in Boalsburg.

Todd Schickling collected two hits for The Rock, which led 2-0 going into the bottom of the fourth inning.

Mars High School graduate Josh Rape took the loss after relieving starter Scott Rice.

Rape pitched 3Z\c innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits.

Slippery Rock (34-22) will now await a decision from the NCAA whether or not it advances to the regional tournament. Kutztown was ranked No. 1 in the latest poll.
