Suns stay alive vs. L.A. Lakers
PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns found their offense, and Raja Bell lost his cool.
The Suns stayed alive with their 114-97 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night, but have to worry about whether the NBA suspends their fiery defensive specialist for Game 6 on Thursday night.
"Yes, I'm concerned about it," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "I'm concerned about it and I hope it doesn't happen."
Bell threw Kobe Bryant to the floor with 7:33 to play, earning his second technical and an automatic ejection. Four minutes later, Bryant was tossed for his second technical.
Almost lost in the late brouhaha was Boris Diaw's magnificent performance on a night when he was presented the NBA's Most Improved Player award. The versatile Frenchman fell one assist shy of a triple-double with 25 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.
Kwame Brown scored 14 points on 6-for-6 shooting for the Lakers, but was plagued by foul trouble.
Heat 92, Bulls 78
At Miami, Dwyane Wade scored 28 points, 15 after going to the Heat's training room with a bruised left hip.
Spurs 109, Kings 98
At San Antonio, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker helped San Antonio overcome a combined 62 points from Bonzi Wells and Ron Artest.
Nets 92, Pacers 86
At East Rutherford, N.J., Vince Carter had 34 points, 15 rebounds and a game-clinching dunk with 28 seconds to play.
Richard Jefferson added 24 points and Jason Kidd set a team-postseason record with 15 assists as New Jersey won its second straight game in the series. Game 6 will be played in Indianapolis on Thursday.
Jermaine O'Neal scored 19 points for the Pacers, who had five players score in double figures. Indiana was without starters Peja Stojakovic (knee) and Jeff Foster (back).
