Co-MVPs on the freshman team were Rachel Doutt and Becky Smith.
Union senior Bethany Koch scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the White squad to a 69-56 victory in the Alice R. Kozel Foundation District 9 Girls Basketball All-Star Game Sunday at DuBois Middle School.Koch received game MVPhonors for her effort.A-CValley senior Sean Foust scored 11 points and snared eight rebounds as the White posted a 104-67 win in the boys game. Tony Lecker of Elk County Catholic scored 27 points, recorded six rebounds and had three steals to earn MVPhonors.
Rob Keys, a former assistant coach at NCAADivision I-AAIndiana State University, has joined the Slippery Rock University football staff as defensive secondary coach.Keys served one year as safeties coach and special teams coordinator at Indiana State. He also served four seasons as co-defensive coordinator at the University of Findlay (Ohio).Keys fills the coaching vacancy left by Jay Foster, who was recently named head coach at Clarion University.
