Workingman's Store
Now beginning its 73rd year, The Workingman's Store is still meeting the needs of the Butler County workforce.
Even though times have been tough and work styles and ethics continue to change, The Workingman's Store remains strong and confident of the future.
Isadore Cohen started the store during the Great Depression. He strove to make a great business and to satisfy many customers over the years.
Joseph Rosenberg, who had worked for Cohen since 1936, bought the store in 1973.
Rosenberg's son, Alan, began working part time in 1968. He went to Penn State University and earned a degree in accounting.
Alan returned in 1973 and began working for his father full time. In 1982, he bought the business because of his father's declining health.
The Workingman's Store has always offered good values at great prices. Brands the store has carried nearly since the beginning include Carhartt, Carolina, Wolverine, Levi's, Wrangler, Lee, Duofold and Georgia.
On your next visit to downtown Butler, come see a store with a lot of history. See our newly expanded dressing room and also our original hardwood floors, recently brought back from years of being hidden under tile and carpeting.
By the way, you could also say hello to Alan, who is still here. He doesn't look too bad for being here for 72 years.
