SARVER — The Horsefeathers 4-H Club of Sarver will host a model horse show at 10 a.m. Feb. 11 in Heide Hall at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Route 228.

Doors will open at 9 a.m.

The show is open to all model horse enthusiasts. The show classes include Western/English Pleasure, Event, Halter, Collectors, Vintage and Custom. Awards will be presented in each class.

Refreshments will be available for purchase and the event will feature several vendors.

A new support group for those suffering from anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorders will begin meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the office of the Pennsylvania Educational Network for Eating Disorders and the Eating Disorders Treatment Center, second floor, 357 N. Main St.The group will meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. every other Monday.For information or to register, call 412-215-7967.

PROSPECT — A Valentine's dance will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Feb. 11 at the Prospect Fire Hall, 373 Main St.The event will feature music by Just Another D.J. Drink mixes and snacks will be available.Tickets are $20 per couple. Participants should take their own alcoholic beverages.For tickets, call 724-865-9505.

The Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., will host its Romance Used Book Sale from Feb. 11 through 18.Donations of used books are also being accepted for the Friend's Used Book Sale to be held from April 20 to 22.

NORTH WASHINGTON — A Valentine's roast beef dinner will be held at 4 p.m. Feb. 10 at the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department's Social Hall, Fairview Road.Sponsored by the fire department's auxiliary, the cost will be $7 for adults and $4 for children.The first 50 women older than 18 to arrive will receive a red carnation.

BUTLER TWP — Special Olympics of Butler County will host its annual Bowl-a-Thon and Bowling Tournament on Feb. 12 at Family Bowlaway.Registration for volunteers and athletes will begin at 8:30 a.m.To donate to the Special Olympics program, call 724-285-4101, or mail a donation to P.O. FOREST COUNTY — The annual Cook Forest French and Indian War Encampment, scheduled for June 2006, has been canceled due to a renovation project at the Sawmill Center for the Arts.Event planners intend to resume the annual encampment in 2007.For information, contact Marcia Gordon, park manager at 814-744-8407.Notices, in writing, of festivals, fund-raising events, newly elected officers and other news from clubs and non-profit groups should be sent to the Focus department one week in advance of the event.
