A Dec. 23 wedding is being planned by Butler residents Sarah McGarvey and Scott Rattigan.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Bill and Joan McGarvey of Butler. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Dick and Shirley Rattigan of Chicora.

The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Butler High School and a 2004 graduate of Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. She works for Penn United Technology in Cabot.

Her fiancé graduated in 2000 from Karns City High School and in 2002 from Triangle Tech. He works for Tim Booher Construction in Chicora.
