Paul, 80, first ran for the school board in 1961 after his wife, Alice Lee Paul, a retired Seneca teacher, decided not to run for a second term on the board. William Paul has served on and off the board since then. Paul, who said he felt humbled by the citation, is serving a four-year term that ends in 2007.
