The 2006 PIHL All-Star Games will be played Jan. 28 at the Valley Sports Complex in New Kensington.

The Class A game is at 12:30 p.m., the Class AA game is at 2:30, the Class AAA game is at 4:30 and the open division game is at 6:30.

Area players in the Class A game include Mars forwards Bryan Reel and Michael Randolph and goaltender Bryan Ross, as well as Freeport defensemen Zach Hepler and Tom Ferrante and goaltender Tim Zahemensy.

Alternates include Freeport forward Beau Zack and Mars forward Michael Kenitz.

Seneca Valley forward Kevin Raynovich is playing in the Class AAA game. Teammate James Blackburn, a defenseman, is an alternate.

Butler's Matt Slamecka won the boys under-14 singles title at the Glencreek Holiday Championships USTA tennis tournament recently in South Park.He defeated four opponents, each in straight sets.Slamecka also teamed with Evan Kowalski of Butler to defeat Ryan Pollack and Colby Shanafelt 8-1 in the doubles championship match.
