GIBSONIA — The Women of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown will host an event for women at 7 p.m. Tuesdayat the church, Route 8 at Heckert Road.The event will include a Christmas tea followed by a piano and vocal presentation by David and Angela Lepley of Russellton. Boylan and Glenn-Kildoo funeral homes will co-sponsor their annual memorial services in December.The services are open to anyone who has lost a loved one in the past year. Each attendee will receive a Christmas ornament inscribed with the name of their loved one. The ornaments will be hung on a tree by the family member.The services will also include speakers offering advice on coping with grief and loss, a music and candle lighting ceremony in which names of the deceased will be read, handouts, and refreshments.The services will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church n Zelienople and at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church in Cranberry Township.Reservations are required.For information, call 724-452-8005 or 724-776-6610.
A Family Forever seminar offered by Lifesteps and Family Services of Butler Memorial Hospital will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Family First Resource Center, 216 N. Washington St.The sessions, held concurrently for adults and children in grades one through six, will address the impact of divorce on parents and children.Cost for adults is $50.
