PITTSBURGH — Darrell Satterfield threw six touchdown passes, including four to Brandon Chamber, as Thiel completed its first unbeaten regular season since 1950 with a 50-48 triple overtime victory over Carnegie Mellon.

Satterfield completed 29 of 52 passes for 306 yards, including 15 passes to Chamber, covering 177 yards. The two connected on touchdown passes of 9, 11, 18, and 21, the last two coming in overtime. Chamber and Satterfield also connected on the two-point conversion that gave Thiel the deciding points.

Thiel (10-0) entered the game ranked No. 18 in NCAA Division III.

Carnegie Mellon (5-5) jumped out to a 28-14 lead with a pair of touchdown runs by Travis Sivek and a pair of scoring passes by Jarred Highberger.

Thiel tied the game at 28-28 with a 1-yard touchdown run by Dan Hess and a 7-yard pass from Satterfield to Mark LaScola.

Kevin Mulkern threw a pair of touchdown passes for Carnegie Mellon in overtime, but his two-point conversion pass failed. Mulkern came into the game when Highberger sustained an injury.
