GO STEELERS!

Members of the Cranberry Elks Lodge recently assembled and shipped 10 packages to the 344 Task Force Medical Unit, currently serving near Baghdad, Iraq. From left, Maj. Matt Sheaffer, Capt. Robert Hooko, Sgt. 1st Class Teddy Townsend, Master Sgt. Joseph Santiago and Lt. Col. David Brant, son of Lodge member William Patterson, enjoy Pittsburgh Steeler items that arrived with the packages. In addition to the Steeler memorabilia, the Lodge sent NASCAR items, personal hygiene items and card games. In appreciation of the gifts, the troops and officers sent lodge members a letter of thanks, a certificate of honor and an American flag that had been flown over a hospital in Iraq. The flag will be raised at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 13 at the Elks Lodge on Route 19. The VFW Post 879 Color Guard will perform the ceremony.
