Slippery Rock University running back Josh Kniess was named the NCAA Division II Special Teams Player of the Week by Don Hansen's Football Gazette.

The senior tallied 310 all-purpose yards in a 58-28 win over Shippensburg last week.

That total, which included 172 yards rushing, 110 yards on punt returns, a 7-yard kickoff return and a 5-yard reception, moved Kniess to the top spot on SRU's all-time, all-purpose yardage list.
