The Slippery Rock University men's water polo team received three goals from Aaron Chapple Friday night en route to a 10-7 victory over nationally ranked Johns Hopkins (No. 16).

The win came in the opening round of the Collegiate Water Polo Association's Southern Division tournament at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

The Rock (21-3) also received two goals apiece from Arseni Grokhovski and Ryan Holt and one goal each from Sean Casella, Oliver Horrigan and Nick Byron.

SRU played George Washington Saturday morning.

Seneca Valley seniors Ashley Rees and Aly Intihar were named All-WPIAL Class AAA in girls soccer this season.Rees is a midfielder while Intihar is a goalkeeper.Those earning all-section honors are Butler senior forwards Jamie Albert and Kelly Hilderbrand, as well as Knoch junior midfielder P.J. Abels and sophomore forward Amanda Sharbaugh, Mars junior defender Megan Eidenshink, Seneca Valley's Rees, senior forward Cassie Berlin and junior midfielder Jessica Meurer.Goalkeepers Intihar and Stephanie Romanias of Mars also received all-section honors.

Penn State-Behrend women's volleyball junior middle hitter and Knoch High graduate Elaine Voltz passed the 1,000-career kills mark by tallying 13 kills against Medaille College Wednesday.Voltz ended the match with 1,003 kills in her career. Her play has helped Penn State-Behrend to compile a 23-7 overall record this season.
